• 1955 – The previous cross country motorcycle record was broken by a BMW R 69.
• 1983 – The K 100 with the first water-cooled, inline four-cylinder engine was built by BMW.
• 1997 – The BMW R 1200 C was BMW’s introduction to the cruiser market.
• 2011 – The BMW K Series added two six-cylinder engine models.
• 2015 – The BMW Center of Urban Mobility Competence is launched.
• 2022 – The first-ever M series BMW motorcycle, the M 1000 RR, is released.
