This year, both BMW and Honda released two amazing luxury motorcycles: The BMW K 1600 Grand America and the Honda Goldwing Tour. Although they are both fantastic vehicles, they have some pretty big differences between them. In fact, Motorcyclist Magazine recently did a comparison review to see which motorcycle offered more for the rider. Here’s what they found:
The BMW K 1600 Grand America is a fantastic touring motorcycle that has a great look and top-notch performance capabilities. This motorcycle is about 30 lbs. lighter than the Honda Goldwing Tour, and has a Liquid cooled, four-stroke inline six-cylinder 1,649 engine that delivers 136.8 horsepower and 117 lb.-ft. of torque. The BMW K 1600 Grand America has enough space for two passengers and a luggage capacity of 123 L. It also has a sleek look and is available in two colors. This is the very first BMW bagger bike, and it has already proven itself to be a great option for riders.
The new Honda Goldwing tour was redesigned for 2018. This redesign includes a new engine, new styling, a new look for the dashboard, a lighter weight and improved fuel efficiency. This motorcycle also comes with exciting new technological features and also looks fantastic, but is less powerful than the BMW K 1600 Grand America. The Honda Goldwing Tour has a six-cylinder 1833 cc. engine that delivers 97.8 horsepower and 108 lb.-ft of torque. It also has a smaller fuel capacity than the BMW K 1600 Grand America; 5.55 gallons compared to the BMW’s 7 gallons.
